Some days I forget that I am a photographer. I am so focused on booking clients that I forget why I started doing all this in the first place. It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day of living that you forget that there are other elements at play. ⁠
I love being a business person and I love the work but some days I forget that I love being a photographer too. I have to be a good business person so I can book new clients but I also have to be a good photographer to attract those clients. It’s a vicious cycle sometimes and it’s so easy to get caught up that you forget to see the bigger picture. ⁠

That’s why I always endeavour to turn up early. I do this partly because it affords me the opportunity to walk around the venue – both inside and outside – and assess the lighting conditions on the day. However, it also gives me the chance to get some photos of the building itself and perhaps some of the decorations, flower arrangements and so on before any of the guests have arrived.⁠⠀
